growing out hair help!

sorry, I know this gets asked a lot but I can’t quite figure out why my hair won’t grow!

It hasn’t been lightened since April although I do get root tints/toner at the salon. I get regular hair cuts (8 weeks) with a salon conditioning treatment. I do heat style it but not overly so, eg wash 2/3 times per week and blow dry and straighten once per wash cycle. I also use good quality hair care: Kerastase masks, Tigi shampoo/conditioner, PK elasticiser. I take multi-vitamin supplements.

Yet my hair just breaks off into very fine and wispy ends, and even my hair stylists are a bit confused why as the level of breakage was quite dramatic. My hair this morning was mid length, but the top layer was about 1-2 inches longer than the rest of my hair as the bottom layers snapped off throughout. I have got it cut into a long bob this morning, it’s much shorter but it is so much thicker. I want to maintain this thickness as I grow it out but I’m not sure how to prevent further breakage as I’m not sure what’s causing it?

Ditch the straighteners. Whilst you may not be using them much, if you're hair is breaking it is too much.
