Fashion brands for young men

Guess I'm a somewhat unusual fellow to be here - a 23 year old/young male. Stumbled upon this forum when looking for fashion advice. Lots of well-informed, fashionable people here, perhaps you could help. Smile

I'm German, but really like British fashion brands and often order clothes I like from London.

Say, you had a 23yo son asking for advice, which fashion brands would you recommend to him?

Ted Baker and Reiss are my current favorites, but they're been getting mixed press 'round here. From these picks, you could probably derive my style/taste and budget: smart casual/business casual with some youthful twist, like prints or quirky details, price range around 100 pounds for a shirt and 300 for a jacket.

Have you looked at The Kooples and maybe All Saints? Also French Connection or Jigsaw?

SeoulSoul · 04/09/2018 15:31

Hi, I did.

The Kooples is said to have quality issues, and the "edgy" vibe just isn't for me.

Allsaints is okay in my books, perhaps I would consider it.

French Connection and Jigsaw are too basic for my liking. They completely lack the designer shirts Ted Baker or Reiss have, for example.

To be quite honest, I'm quite satisfied with what these two brands offer, perhaps I'm just looking for confirmation that there's nothing better.

Perhaps google similar brands, by asking which ones are similar if you see what I mean? Also, assuming you're on Facebook, if you go onto the pages of Ted Baker and Reiss and press 'like' for the pages themselves, you should find that you then get suggestions on your personal FB page for similar brands. HTH Smile

Have a look at the Thread website. The aim of it is to find clothing in brands you would normally overlook using your preferred style and brands you already know.

My son is a little younger than you. His favourites are Scotch & Soda and Zara.

BubblesBuddy · 04/09/2018 18:51

Zara. Spanish though! Barbour, Cos (Danish), Arket (possibly also Danish). If you can afford it: Alexander McQueen for the odd special piece.

SeoulSoul · 05/09/2018 13:58

Thanks for the answers. I liked Barbour and Scotch&Soda, albeit the latter seemed too youthful for me.

@LadyPenelopeCantDance

My son is a bit younger than you. He buys a lot from Urban Outfitters and H & M.

SeoulSoul · 05/09/2018 14:09

@Scabetty
Oh, I liked lots of his stuff!
Sadly, the prices are astronomical, 1,5-2x that of Reiss or Ted Baker.
