Not quite as relaxing as my usual massage. Or dignified. And pretty damn painful. I didn't know it was possible to have every body part tensed up, including jaw, but I can confirm it is!

How often does it need to be done? I am scared to look at it now so am unsure if I like it or not!

What is a Brazilian? surely not the hair treatment?!

TheActualLastJedi · 04/09/2018 13:53

Well I'm sorry to say having hair ripped out of you is never a comfortable experience lol 😂

With regards to upkeep every 4-6 weeks depending on how fast your hair grows really. Before you book in again I'd make sure you like the look of it first though!

Threeminis · 04/09/2018 14:34

I go every four weeks.

Barbayagar · 04/09/2018 14:57

Arrrh. Every 6 weeks would suit me just fine. I actually have a high pain threshold but it was tough going! If you have it done regularly does the hair grow thinner and sparser? fingers crossed.

I’m a beauty therapist. Did you jave hot wax or strips? Hot wax is much less painful. If you can find a salon that uses Lycon Pinkini wax we use s pre wax oil before applying the wax. It makes the wax just stick to the hair not the skin.

Barbayagar · 04/09/2018 21:05

I had strips. Think I'll go for hot wax next time. The Lycon stuff sounds great, thanks.

Another beauty therapist here. Hot wax is definitely better than strip for areas such a bikini line/ Brazilian/Hollywood.
It should be slightly easier pain wise every time you have it done.

DragonMamma · 04/09/2018 21:11

Every 5/6 weeks here and it does seem to be getting more sparse but that took a while (a year or so!)

Definitely go for hot wax - strips hurt like a bitch!

Pywife2 · 04/09/2018 21:11

Zigazagazoo, is that because you slowly lose all feeling down there? ShockGrin

Quangot · 04/09/2018 21:12

Never had one. Don't you spend most of your time at an in-between regrowth stage before you can have it done again? Confused

Barbayagar · 05/09/2018 13:22

@Quangot, not sure, but that does sound a bit pointless! I guess I will find out.

Threeminis · 05/09/2018 13:30

It definitely becomes more sparse as time goes on.
My legs have massive patches where nothing grows now.. it's fab

RadioDorothy · 05/09/2018 14:42

I really really want to be professionally waxed everywhere (bikini line, legs etc) so the hairs become finer, but I just can't overcome my acute embarrassment. I'm a size 18, but working on losing weight.

Threeminis · 05/09/2018 17:07

Honestly Radio I'm a 16/18 too. It's fine, don't be embarrassed they are professionals and have seen it all!

Yutes · 05/09/2018 17:08

I’m roughly at 8 weeks between waxes now and it takes less time. Still hurts but I’m a fan of pain medication before I go.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 05/09/2018 17:09

I go every 4 weeks and have Lycon hot wax. I don't feel it any more after 18 years of going regularly

Threeminis · 05/09/2018 17:58

I always take a couple of paracetamol before I go.
Also, don't go if you're due a period - much more painful

MumUndone · 05/09/2018 18:13

Bucking the trend, I actually find strip wax less painful! That's just for standard bikini though, not Brazilian.

Rebecca36 · 05/09/2018 18:29

May I politely ask about the current state of your 'minge' area? Can you walk :-) ?

HappyHedgehog247 · 05/09/2018 18:31

I find hot wax way less painful. Don’t go near period! Gets much easier over time.

feesh · 05/09/2018 18:35

I can’t believe there are beauticians out there who would use strip wax for a Brazilian! Ouch!!!!

Barbayagar · 05/09/2018 20:29

I can walk! Minge is not loving me right now though, rather tender and needs some TLC.

hoppipopla · 05/09/2018 20:55

Oh Christ I loved the results but I'm hyper sensitive to hair being ripped out, legs look like I've been rolled in nettles and each pore looks a bit bruised for days after and my foof gets so swollen I look like I have some pretty large condones and I feel like I've been kicked in it for a good week or so. I persevered for a whole year and the regrow then became pretty sparse but then I decided I needed to just love my foof as she is because the hair removal thing is just traumatic to me

Threeminis · 05/09/2018 22:53

Wear loose pj's op.. let the air get to it Blush
It'll be fine by the morning

Alwa · 05/09/2018 23:01

So after a couple of week you get 6 0 clock shadow?
