Cloud 9 vs Ghd

My 10 yr old ghd straightener is about to give up the ghost. I've heard that ghd's aren't as great anymore and the platinum one certainly gets some mixed reviews.
Can anyone give me insight into a cloud 9? Do you like it better?

I loved my Cloud 9s - they left my hair shiny and in excellent condition. However, after six months, they stopped working. I had a replacement pair which also stopped working after six months. I went back to GHD...

Do not get GHD platinum. I hate hate hate them!!

I have had my cloud 9's since 2015 and they are still going fine. They heat really quickly and leave my hair shiny. I have really liked them.

Oooh mixed opinions again! I'm leaning towards cloud 9 at this point, just for something different.

Maybe something to think about, when I first got my cloud 9 straighteners they felt quite snaggy in my hair to the point that I was about to give up on them. I have a feeling I may have told someone here not to buy them because of this but when they had been used a few times they were fine!

I have no idea why and it did stop and they are great now but maybe something to be aware of.

I love my GHD platinums!! They leave my hair silky smooth and straight all day, they curl perfectly too and just glide through the hair. Best straighteners I've ever had. Why don't you like them @Camsie30 ?! Genuinely curious xx

RedPandaFluff · 05/09/2018 14:59

I hate my GHD platinums too. They leave my hair frizzy; don't straighten it very well, and I actually think they're just not hot enough.

I ended up sending them back to GHD within a few months of getting them - thinking they were so rubbish they might actually be faulty - but the replacement pair were exactly the same. I now use a £30 pair of Remington straighteners I got from Amazon.

So, good customer service from GHD but crappy product.
