How many pairs of shoes and boots do you own?

Rudgie47 · 03/09/2018 18:43

After another forced big clearout, I'm left with around 20 pairs of trainers, 4 pairs of walking boots, 1 pair of Chelsea boots, 2 pairs of birkies, 1 pair of flip flops.
This year I must have given away over 20 pairs of shoes/boots that had seen better days and around 40 bags as well ranging from handbags, backpacks, shoulder bags and shopping bags etc.
Just asking out of interest is anyone else on here bad for buying footwear?

About 40 pairs.
Some are 7 years old....I have to buy expensive shoes due to size, so I look after them!

LusaCole · 04/09/2018 09:24

I don’t understand how some people manage with just a few pairs. I always think you need lots of options depending upon what you are wearing. In my bedroom which has the stuff I wear the most about 17 pairs, mainly trainers (some gym) & flat sandals & slides. I love sandals! In the spare room, no idea but a load of heels & boots.

dundee12 · 04/09/2018 12:27

Have my eye on some new ankle boots & some boots suitable for snow.

wellhonestly · 04/09/2018 13:28

OK, I make that 34:
5 pairs flat, comfy Mary Janes (tan, navy, purple, 2 black - these are the shoes I wear the most)
2 pairs flattish knee boots - (1 brown, 1 black)
1 pair slightly heeled knee boots (black)
1 pair extra-cosy snow boots (black)
1 pair black ankle boots
2 pairs wellies (one pink "fashion" pair, one green "gardening" pair)
1 pair cut-off wellies (just the feet)
1 pair serious walking boots
1 pair outdoor trainers
1 pair "gym" trainers - hardly used Blush
1 pair watersports shoes (worn out and need chucking)
1 pair actual ballet pumps bought as indoor shoes for visiting (these now smell of feet so I don't really use them)
2 pairs of "character" shoes for the stage - one black one nude
1 pair silver "occasion" shoes
1 pair silk wedding shoes as I can't bear to throw them out even thought they no longer fit post-DCs
3 pairs summer sandals (one sensible, one "classic" with block heel, and one sparkly flat).
3 pairs summer plimsolls - never seem to get the weather for these and two of which have shrunk in the wash anyway
1 pair brown "sensible" wedges
1 pair black "sensible" heels

1 pair navy stiletto heels
1 pair red "Cornish Pasty" shoes I haven't worn for about 10 years Blush
one pair pointy silver sequinned mules
1 pair of cream and red floral shoes [what was I thinking emoticon]

wellhonestly · 04/09/2018 13:29

Oh, are we counting slippers? I have one pair of winter slipper boots and one pair of summer/travelling slipper mules. Both sheepskin.

LightastheBreeze · 04/09/2018 17:27

I also have winter and summer slippers, small ballerina type for summer and the big bootee type for winter, usually from Next or M&S as they can generally go in the wash. I also have winter caravanning crocs (furry inside), summer caravanning and beach crocs, and garden crocs as well as all my countless normal shoes and boots, also walking boots, ankle wellies, full length wellies, in fact a shoe or boot for any occasion.

I'm glad others have lots as DH thinks mine are a bit excessive

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 04/09/2018 17:31

CountFosco - Dp is always complaining about how many shoes I have, and I've always thought I had v few pairs compared to other women. I was quite surprised how many they added up to.
