Help me find something to wear to work! Very tall, pear shape

I'm returning to work next week after not working in an office for 11yrs. I'm 6ft 1, and a size 14-16 top and size 16-18 bottom (but working on losing weight) The office is moderately smart, but not suits. I have fat legs that I hate, so want to wear trousers, but am a 36" inside leg, so limited to Asos tall, Long Tall Sally and Next Tall. I don't really know what to wear on my top half. And shoes. Am a size 10, so even more limited for options. Usually wear DMs or men's converse, which are obvs not suitable. Help please!

I like these cigarette trousers from Next and they would look smart with brogues and a blouse or fitter jumper in a decent fabric.

Thanks. Not sure about the shape on my wide hips, but will give them a try.

Would you wear high denier opaque tights?
I have fat legs but they look slimmer in tights than trousers.

My mum has very big feet and gets her shoes from Ellie Dickins shoes in Hungerford. I think you can buy on line from them as well.

I'm a shortie so I can't help on clothes unfortunately.

I am shorter but a similar clothes size ratio. I would suggest trying thick tights. I find I often look slimmer. Given your height, you should try a below knee dress and it should be just above which would be ok.

I'm 5'9 and a size 18, pear shape. Other than jeans I wear dresses mainly, wrap dress style usually. Phase Eight have some reasonably long ones that are over the knee for my height. Also recently been buying Monsoon as they come up long, but you need to like that style.
Also Esprit is long (German make), they sell it in certain shops in the UK eg Fenwick in Newcastle.

I second (or third) the suggestion to try dresses and tights rather than trousers. I'm tall and pear-shaped, although shorter than you at 'only' 5' 10", and I find that dresses (or skirts and tops in the same colour and with the top fitting neatly over the skirt rather than having a visible cut-off, IYSWIM), lengthen me and balance out the pear-shape.

To add to my earlier post, if you do wear trousers, I have found asda workwear very good. They have a good range of tops usually.

I'm 6ft (10 on top, 12 on bottom) so also limited to the same shops for trousers as you. I were next cigarette trousers with ballerinas (clarks) for autumn, and next straight cut (but look boot leg on me?!) with boots for winter. Tops are shirts from long tall Sally or long line tops from Next. Cardigans from next, and a-line skirts from next (not tall) with brogues (clarks). I have a couple of LTS dresses that I wear with boots front duo. V neck/slash neck jumpers from LTS. Hardly top fashion but I'm sick of trawling through the shops when nothing actually fits.

What is your best feature? Do you have a small-ish waist what about wrap dresses/wrap tops from LTS?

There's a LTS buying/trade FB site that is pretty good, there's some good advice and finds on there, and it's nice not to feel alone in a world of (generally) shorter ladies..

Thanks for the suggestions. I've picked up a few things. The cigarette trousers looked better than I thought. I hadnt thought about dresses with thick tights, but that's a good idea. I'm going to leave getting too many things for a few months because I'm committed to losing some weight atm, so hoping to shrink out of my current clothes! @Pass I'm on that LTS group, but had kind of forgotten about it. I will have a look.
