As part of an overall house declutter I want to declutter my clothes. I have lots but not alot that I love. Much of it is cheap and several years old. I have put on a bit of weight this year and alot of stuff is feeling a little tight and uncomfortable.

I have read things about how to declutter your clothes and only keep things you love and that make you feel good. If I follow this I will be left with very little!
I don’t really know what to do. Wearing clothes that are old & have seen better days and maybe are a little tight is not making me feel good about myself, but I can’t afford to just ditch it all and buy a whole new wardrobe! I do have some vouchers from my birthday but I don’t even know what to buy any more.
I’m 42, 5’3” size 12ish, narrowish shoulders but bigger tummy.

I’d be greatful for any advice please. Has anyone else been in this situation?

I would get everything out on the bed category by category and remove anything that's really showing its age, then sort the rest into two piles to keep or chuck (donate!). Try to build a capsule wardrobe out of the keep pile, and work out where the gaps are. Use birthday vouchers/ Christmas presents etc, to fill the gaps.
I go through my wardrobe regularly and get rid of anything that's looking shabby/ dated/ feels itchy or tight etc. I love a good clearout Smile
