Hello!
First date tomorrow eve, poss outside.
Torn between FOUR options:

  1. Jeans/cami/blazer option
  1. Casual black maxi vest dress and necklace, but vest so what sort of jacket?!
  1. Casual but cool maxi skirt, (khaki) suits me, is Def trainers/slip on vans type combo but what to wear on top? Eg jacket/hoodie/blazer?
Poss with casual, raglan long sleeve t shirt...not sure ref top...
  1. Pretty long sleeve wrap style dress so wouldn't need jacket etc but....it's leopard print, too much for first date?

I'm very short (5 feet) and have heels but not awfully comfortable in them and they'd only go with knee length dress or jeans....

This is the h&m dress , everything else is old m2.hm.com/m/en_gb/productpage.0714379001.html
I have knaki and navy blazers, both Zara
Cami tops, lacy top, have black, cream, and a sort of blush pink
My jewellery is normally gold/bronze, I like big statement vintage rings and preferably hoop earrings
I also have a few leather jackets, nicest one is a tan one from Reiss, no collar just zip front.
I have a dark orange gap trench but ithink is too try hard...

I forgot, big question ref the shorter dress, tights or not this time of year?
My tan is fading fast!

Dress is pretty but i think I'd keep it for something else, maybe 2nd date?
I'm leaning towards option 1 or 2 if it is outside and casual. Have you a khaki jacket? And nice earrings ?

HalfStar · 02/09/2018 10:07

Ooh or maybe blush cami with maxi skirt? Like that colour combo idea. With earrings and a denim jacket?

dragonflyflew · 02/09/2018 10:24

HalfStar I actually bought the dress for an upcoming family wedding!
Thanks so much for your feedback. I have a khaki blazer, khaki thin parka, a really cool khaki jacket which is thick cotton (like denim) and biker shape, has a fab graphic on the back!
Khaki is one of 'my' colours.
Yes I like the blush/khaki combo wouldn't have automatically put the two together before!

I think you are sorted so Smile just a matter of trying on and seeing which combo looks best. Good luck.

update!
Was feeling very bloated and PMTish so didn't want any restricting waistlines!
I went with the black maxi, leopard slip on vans style shoes, khaki shirt jacket and long bronze necklace.
It's an outfit I've worn often and always gets compiments. Lots of mascara and nude lippy.
Felt relaxed and comfortable.
He was gorgeous and it was a lovely first date.
Thanks for the helpful ideas.
Time will tell....
