I've just purchased re:pigment to target a sun/age spot (so only treating a small area of 5p size). What step in my regimen should I include this before or after retinoid?
I'm also looking for some recommendations over what I can add to my routine -
am- buffet followed by Avene rich skin recovery cream
pm - buffet then 2% granactive retinoid followed by above moisturiser
I'm keen to include an acid but not sure, is this instead of the retinoid? Any recs for oils gratefully received to use in pm instead of avene moisturiser.
I'm 40, skin is dry/ dehydrated - slightly sensitive.
Thanks in advance.

No idea about the re:pigment but retinol products should go on before any serums/treatments.

I have oily/dehydrated skin with breakouts and love Paula’s Choice BHA, which I use as a toner after double cleansing in the evenings. If you aren’t congested, you may like glycolic acid instead (e.g Pixi glow). I do use a retinoid after this, then add any other serums and oils after this (spritz and then hyaluronic acid, then buffet, then oil). When you first use a retinol, you should avoid using with acids while your skin gets used to it and build up or using it - not every day at first.

In terms of oil, I use clarins lotus oil for combination/oily skin. They do a blue orchid one too.m for normal skin I think.

I forgot to say- always wear spf after you moisturiser in the day! You might want to consider a vitamin c product in the mornings to help with the pigmentation.

thanks yellowsun; I've been putting buffet before retinoid now so pleased to find out the correct order!

I've been using TO products since Jan have noticed a difference to age spots and depth of lines.

Buffet in the mornings after cleansing with Cetophil. When it has soaked it, I apply 50 spf (La roche possay). At bedtime I cleanse with Cetophil and apply 5% retinoid in squalene and massage in.

Sorry to highjack but I've been doing buffet before the 2% retinoid too! The retinoid feels heavier so I thought would go on second.

The advice from the ordinary is to use in order of texture, so if you have the retinoid that’s watery, you’re good to apply before serum, but if you have the one in squalane, you’ll have to apply it afterwards.

@thenightsky did you start off on 5% or build up to it? In all honestly I'm not seeing much results with 2% probably using x 5 a week for last few weeks. I will probably finish this bottle and move up to 5%. encouraging to read age spots are improving.
I had a delivery today so just tried the aha/bha acid for first time tonight, skin felt smoother immediately after.

JoanDarc I started on the 2% mid-January time. That bottle lasted until the end of April, and when I re-ordered I went for the 5%.
