Shoes for a reception teacher

Can anybody help me find a pair of shoes that would be suitable for teaching in reception. I will be on my feet most of the day. I need something that is comfortable and not too casual. I was thinking maybe a pair of Skechers but not sure.

You'll also need ones with tough toe tips- mine used to wear at the top from kneeling on the carpet a lot!

What is your budget, roughly?

YOu need nurse shoes.

They're on their feet a lot.

I was thinking about £50 but will go more if I find something I love :)

I live near a hospital and have a lot of friends who work there. Nurses and admin staff on their feet all day. They all wear Hotter shoes, with Shake being the most popular.

I’m KS2 but mine are from Clarks. Ballet style but they’re cushioned inside for extra comfort.

None of the reception teachers at my school would be seen dead in any of those hideous shoes that have been suggested!
They wear all sorts of shoes just like all the rest of us in school e.g. trainers, sandals, DMs, boots etc.

Hippywannabe · 31/08/2018 13:24

Hotter or Clarks as linked above are good. No trainers or anything other than closed toe shoes allowed at our school!

Hellywelly10 · 31/08/2018 13:27

Loafers or brogues would be fine. There are some nice clogs in the shops at the moment.

I have Clarks dolly shoes with cushioning. I bring slippers to change into after 3.30pm 😀

Hazardswan · 31/08/2018 20:22

Black converse?

leghoul · 31/08/2018 22:46

Clarks hamble oak brogues, Im often on feet for 12+ hours doing lots of walking and these have stood tests of time and adverse weather.

I also like deck/ boat shoes but youve got to get the right pair. Sometimes best place is buying boys shoes in a larger size, depending on your shoe size.

I can't wear ballet pumps any more they just don't support my feet properly and I now find them all really uncomfortable for actually walking in for any distance.

Amaaboutthis · 31/08/2018 23:03

Those shoes are truly hideous. These are a bit better, still not great but very comfortable.
