Dress code funeral

Sorry this is not a happy beauty message, but I am struggling to know what to wear at a funeral next week.

I have a plain black dress with cap sleeves, would that be ok or do people tend to wear longer sleeves at a funeral?

Also do people wear black tights or sheer tights or bare legs?

I have a pair of black suede shoes about 2 1/2 inch heels, standard court shoes not stilettos. Is that ok or would flats be better?

Also (sorry long post lots of questions) I don't have a black coat, would a beige traditional mac do?

Thanks for your help.

Short sleeves will be fine. I think the time of year dictates tight colour. For a funeral last November, I wore black tights but for a funeral in August, I wore sheer. I wouldn't personally go bare-legged.

Heels also fine.

Do you have a black jacket or pashmina?

To be completely honest, I've been to a funeral of a very close relative very recently. I know what I wore, I know what my mum wore and I know what another female relative wore. I cannot remember what anyone else wore.

Funerals these days tend to be smart rather than head to toe black (certain religions excepted). Cap sleeve dress natural rights abbr black heels perfectly fine. Personally I'd probable wear a dark jacket / cardigan rather than a beige mac.
