Hair dye question

What will happen to my hair if I dye blonde ends (ombré) dark brown to match the rest of my hair myself with a kit? Bleach was used I believe. Regrowth showing grey too but at £70+ for full colour it’s out of budget for a while. Also, what kits are the best for covering grey? I have no idea on how hair dye kits work as I’ve always had a hairdresser do it. Thanks for reading.

I've dyed my highlighted hair a few times with box dyed (in dark colours ) and it was completely fine. Just remember to do a patch test first.

I have quite a lot of grey and have to dye it every month. I use the Clairol Nice and Easy Age Defy. I normally hate the smell of hair dyes but this one doesn't have a strong smell at all. It's normally cheapest in Wilko or Superdrug.

Will be fine but you’ll probably find the dyed/bleached bits will be the first to fade
