Does anyone have any experience wearing a black ceramic ring? Got my eye on one but I'm not sure if it would eventually chip and then how would you re coat it?

DH chose one for his wedding ring. It’s survived 7 years so far without a single mark on it. Likewise my dad has a black ceramic watch which must be close to 20 years old now and still looks like new. He did manage to break the glass once as he was wearing it whilst doing some car repairs, slipped and broke his hand/the watch. The ceramic didn’t receive so much as a scratch though.

Not ceramic, but if it's a wedding ring you're looking for, my DH got a tungsten carbide one which is gorgeous, and pretty much indestructible. If you'd like the link to the shop I can put it up.

Ah thanks for the advice, I've gone for a cheap ring for now to see how it wears over the next few months as I'm really hard on my hands. But this is the dream ring http://www.selfridges.com/GB/en/cat/de-beers-enchanted-lotus-moonlight-ceramic-and-diamond-ring_753-10206-J1FK32Z00U/?previewAttribute=
