But can't afford it what else would I like? I used to wear The Body Shop Fig, which was in my eyes pretty darned close but the bastards discontinued it!! TIA

Maybe you should just buy it to treat yourself .
A little bit of Dyptique goes a long way .
( Also if you have a Dyptique shop nearby can you ask for free samples ? )

I buy it in M&S- there is a full size eau de toilette and a perfume, but this is all I have at the moment!

Compagnie de Provence do a lovely fig soap £5.
They may do creams and lotions too. You can mail order from a few places.

Korres fig shower gel and cream is very very similar to this perfume
Also other stories does a fig perfume with similar notes

I love love Philosykos but it would never last long on me and I ended up getting through it so bloody quickly.

Oh, I was going to say Body Shop Fig. It's often in their discount shops and sales - I stocked up last time I was passing Gretna Gateway village...

You can normally pick up the Body shop one during their regular seasonal sale (I used to work there and the discontinued lines were kept in the stockroom and only put out during sale time). If your local branch doesn’t have it, try another branch or online.

I'm using the Library of Fragrance Fig Leaf. Doesn't seem to be sold by Boots any more but Amazon has it for £4.99. Very light, short acting but does give a nice figgy alternative.

Premier Figuier by L'Artisan Parfumerie

Occasionally you come across it in TKMaxx. It's basically the evening version of Philosykos. More musky and sultry but very figgy. It's lush.

You can get samples. Of it on perfume sample sites. Cheap as chips. I used to do it a lot. I think the one I used was called The Perfumed Court but on the Perfume threads here I think they have tried different ones. I definitely had a sample of it from there before I found it in TKMaxx.

Lara Mercier does a fig perfume which is good, sweeter and not as fresh as Diptique. I have the Artisan Perfumer from TK but it is too strong for me- feels very evening in winter and gives me a headache. korres is great for the shower gel, especially when 2 for one.

I use Korres body milk followed by Acqua Di Parma Fico Di Amalfi. I love this stuff but the smell doesn't last long on me and it's a bit ££. I'll look for the Laura Mercier one I think. Does it last well or is it eau de toilette?

I would say the Laura Mercier lasts longer than the Diptique eau de toilette but not as long as the parfum.
