Jeans... What's 'in'?

I'm a size 10-12 40 year old. Not ultra trendy, but I do like to go with the trends! I've got two pairs of skinny jeans that are on their last legs (no pun intended!) and need to be replaced. What style/fit should I go for? Any recommendations for comfortable jeans that don't need hoiking up every five minutes that won't break the bank?

I've just bought Gap Real Girlfriend too. Love them, especially as they do a Tall version. I'd say they are true to size.

If skinnies are out what jeans should I wear with the below boots?

High waisted 'mom' jeans or topshop straight legs are a nice in between if you're a bit heavier and the mom style adds bulk. or cropped wide leg but they can be hard to pull off !

I am still wearing toyshop jamies in black, but with the bottoms rolled up a bit.

I think skinnies tucked into boots is very dated.

I think skinnies tucked into boots is very dated I get that, but then on the other hand there are so many nice boots in the shops that I don’t want to hide under jeans. Plus I can get away with black skinny’s, straight legs & a blouse for work. I can’t wear boyfriend or girlfriend styles as they are deemed to casual.

@Dundee12 love the crazy frogs! I’d keep the skinny jeans for them or wear with leggings or tights )obviously with something over the top). They are such fun.

What’s in for pear shapes, I loved boot but as they balanced me out I look terrible in skinnies I have a huge bum and big stick out hips compared to the rest of me which is an 8. To get jeans past hips they often gape at the waist.

I am also interested in what works for the large of arse. I live in skinny jeans, but struggle to find anything that fits my arse and doesn’t gape massively at the waist.
