What colour tights with brown boots?

I have just bought myself a pair of knee length chestnut brown leather boots. Planning on wearing them with various skirts and dresses.

I am used to wearing black boots with black opaque tights - will black tights look ok with brown boots? If not, what colour?

I wear black tights with brown boots all winter! Looks fine imo, I like the contrast.

Following as have a similar query in my head. I am transitioning to a brown-based as opposed to black-based wardrobe and think am going to need to invest in some brown tights (have seen them in M&S) for this very purpose!

i have some brown boots, and i do wear them with black tights or leggings as long as the dress is a shade that goes with brown. I dont find them as versatile as my black boots, thats for sure.
They look great with green leggings, but it probably depends on your individual style

I wear dresses in navy’s dark greens etc with brown boots. I tend to go for bright contrasting tights. I may well look a state but I like the contrast of a neutral dress and boots with a pop of colour. My current favourite are a dark teal pair.

I wear navy or dark grey tights with brown boots. I’ve never found black to work but I think it depends on the shade of brown.

Ooohh navy I hadn't thought of that possibility! I'm fairly conservative so don't fancy a bright colour.

Brown, green, grey, navy/dark blue or mustard

Not grey please! Two colours that need to be kept well apart are brown and grey.

Burgundy opaques work well, as do navy.

With that shade of brown, black opaques work best imo.

This is the time of year when brown opaques will be available, i would always wear colours from the same palette together, makes them both look much better quality.

I'd wear black but quite fancy trying a burgundy pair this year.

I have something similar I bought last year, I tend to wear tights that match the colour of the skirt Im wearing.

Mustard tweed skirt with mustard thick tights, brown boots, denim with navy and boots and so on. Not a fan of black with brown though.

I bought a lot of Falke tights in TKMaxx, good quality in lots of different colours and material, wool/cotton/silk mix, very good prices and a lot cheaper than from Falke online. I used to buy them in Germany, but now thanks to TK no need!

Any colour but black imo. Black tights with brown boots or shoes is a terrible combination.

Am really not getting the dislike for black opaques with brown boots. Imagine this outfit with burgundy, brown, navy or grey tights. It wouldn’t look right at all. Black is def the way to go imo.

I agree that you consider the colour of the rest of the outfit, so in the picture above of a black dress, then yes black opaques...

But those boots are really a camel colour and the rest of the outfit is black, so black tights look ok, but dark brown and black is a no-no for me.

But hey ho who really cares wear what you like t wear!
