Are these hairstyles a thumbs up or a thumbs down?

I am asking because I really don't know. I am sick and tired of my dull, dull longish bob that just drips around my (slightly jowly, 49 year old) face and I fancy a change. In my head I see myself as fashionable rather than trendy and imagine myself sitting artlessly outside a Paris bistro being effortless and chic.

I am growing my hair from a short bob and it seems to be naturally going into photo 2.
I don't suit hair much longer and it is easy to do...I use the Babyliss Big hair thing when it is almost dry.

The 2nd one would get in my eyes and drive me barmy .

Has your hair got texture or is it very straight?

It is very thick and naturally wavy. Thanks both for the replies.

If your hair is thick and wavy, the layers could work. It would give the style some movement. It would also look different depending on how you styled it. Go for it!
