Sorry if this topic had been done to death.

I live in jeans. I'm a SAHM without a car and do a lot of walking taking the kids to school, shopping, etc.

I currently live in TopShop Jamie jeans as they fit well and are lovely and comfy and don't lose their shape. However, i ALWAYS wear holes in the crotch (!) and left knee. I guess it must be from all the walking, and all the time spent on the floor playing with toddler/picking crap up off the floor etc. I loathe to pay £42 for something that will go in the bin after a few months.

Can anyone recommend a cheaper high street pair of jeans? Is it possible to buy a cheaper pair that won't lose their shape and go saggy at the knees?

Ebay are quite good, I also wear out the crotch very quickly

@MrsMarigold I wouldn't even know which brand to search for on eBay, that's the trouble! I gave bought Jamie jeans from there before but they were too tight despite being the right size Confused maybe they were an old style or had been tumble dried. Anyway it's out me off really, I'd rather buy new from the store!

My adult daughter wears a lot of H&M jeans and the seam to last.

Just get them patched by a tailor. Fat more cheaper than new jeans

I bought some high waist skinny jeans yesterday from Tesco for £14. They are almost exactly the same as my TopShop Joni's but actually better as the denim is firmer. I have exactly the same problem as you, I spend a lot of time on my knees at soft play and at home on the floor with the kids so the knees are first to go.

ASOS Shape Me are really good - enough stretch but also a thicker denim than Jamie’s.

People are raving about tesco contour jeans at the moment. I tried them on...very comfy on but my legs are too fat compared to my waist so they didn't fit.

Thanks all.

@Harrykanesrightsock I bought some from H&M today, after trying a few different shops. Thanks for recommending them! I had written H&M off as the sizing used to be very strange, but they seem to be true to size now Smile

H&M ha e recently changed their sizing so you should find their clothes for you in your required size! I think they've basically sized up iyswim (so a 10 is now a 8) basically if a size 12 was too small it will now fit! Smile

mrsoutnumbered · 28/08/2018 09:05

@BusterGonad yes, I am a 14, and in the past I've found their size 16 incredibly tight. But a 14 fits now.

Primark high waisted jeans are practically the same as the topshop jamies. And about £10. But only the high waisted. The rest come up to about my pubic bone.
The ones i have are 66%cotton 27% poly 3%viscose 2%elastane so keep their shape and dont need hoiking up too much.
They also dont seem to fade as badly as the topshop ones.
You do need to size up though
