Shellac v Gel.......

......or are they the same thing?

Had a shellac which didn't chip even after 3 weeks but had a gel which after a week is already chipping.

What's the difference?

Shellac is a brand of gel

Shellac is a brand name. On my nails it’s the best of all the girls. I generally get 4-5 weeks (regrowth is hideous, but no chips)

So, Shellac is the best of the gels?

On my nails, yes. I know other people like other brands but on me it’s a miracle product!

CND shellac - good us you have great natural Nails that normal polish lasts more than a day on.
Other gel polishes (gelish/gel ii/bio gel etc) - harder wearing
There are also other types of stronger base gels if those aren't strong enough for you
