Calling all big footed ladies! Help me :)

I'm a wide size 9. I really want some Converse. Tried some on yesterday and they looked so long and big, like clown feet Sad
Anyone else have big feet and wear Converse?

I admit I'm really self conscious about the size of my feet. I usually wear flip flops or ballet flats with a low front to break up the length of my foot.

I’m a 7 so not quite as big, but I don’t wear converse for this reason - looks like I have clown feet. Same with VANS.

Size 8.5 here though I have long skinny feet. I wear ones without a big colour contrast ie all black, or silver or grey so the white toecap blends in a bit more. Also now that wide trousers are back, you don't get that golf club effect so much. High top styles also help balance the length, as do muted colours. I also have a 'dainty' (yuk name) version which are less chunky.

Oh I also have some low old style Vans and I'd say that the proportions make my feet look smaller than the Converse.

I'm size 9 or 10 (my feet are so wide I usually have to wear 10s...) and had a pair of lovely red Converse - wore them loads but had to stop because they were too flat for me - as well as being huge my feet are very flat so I tend to need a bit of shape in my shoes!

Just go for it - having grown up having to wear horrible clunky black lace up boys' shoes at school 40 years ago when big girls shoes didn't exist, I now don't feel embarrassed at all about what I stick on my feet - am just grateful that there's more choice and does it really matter what anyone else might think as long as you like them? I am a size 7/8 and find Converse make my feet look really big. Sports Direct do imitation Cons for about £15 which are slightly more
bulbous so make my feet look much less long and flappy. I was a bit of a brand snob and didn't want to try them at first, but now I have I wouldn't go back to Cons - these look so much better.Smile

I always tend to go for a chunkier shoe for exactly that reason.
Some shoes just make my feet look like clown feet!

I'm a 7 normally, occasionally an 8

Badtasteflump · 23/08/2018 13:07

I'm an 8 and Converse look awful on me.

I recently bought some Puma Suedes which look lovely though - as do Adidas Gazelles Smile

OzymandiasFanClub · 23/08/2018 13:19

I'm an 8 and have worn converse and think they looked fine.
I once bought some Superga- now they were clown like.

@DottyDotAgain
I'm 43 and clearly remember being taken shoes shopping by my mum. Trauma! Always ended up with awful hush puppies whilst my friends had trendy shoes Sad
Thank you for all the suggestions everyone. I'm going to go clown shoe shopping now Smile
