Out of control Cowslick....

I have had it for years and whilst it bothered me, I was fine with it, as I would straighten it out or pop a curler in as that is how I styled my hair.

But I have since started tying my hair back and I am left with this tufty bit of hair that if I want to keep it back I have to use mousse and hairspray and it is left looking crispy and unnatural which is not what I am after...

Any suggestions in how to tame it?

For info... the tufty bit is right at the front on the left. Which can be hidden when my hair is straightened as it falls underneath once parted a little to the side.. if that makes sense

No advice, just sympathy. I have a centre one and I've hated it as long as I can remember. My poor son has two!

Will it grow out with time? Some rose gold or copper bobby pins to make a statement out of it?

Leoni84 · 19/08/2018 23:43

Grinspoon, I always hoped it would grow out and I have been reading to see if it will... but it isn't going to happen.

It isn't long enough for pins and if it was it would look to flat, but that's surely got to be better than what I have got.

I hate it so much and it restricts what I can do with it, unless of course I had the time in the mornings to go all out... Which I don't.

I feel your pain! I hate mine, I really want a fringe but it never sits right.
I think you've just got to grow it out. Could you plait it into a bit of hair and then pin it in your ponytail? That's what I do when I'm growing it out after yet another fringe attempt! Grin

Oh sorry just re-read, it doesn't grow? How odd!

Leoni84 · 20/08/2018 10:44

I wish I could plait it, as much as I wish I could grow it out....

Look at that mess.... Picture isn'tgreat as I am at work - but can show you a better look of it once I am home this evening.

I hate it sooo much. [blush}

I have two! One on each side...It's mostly baby hair in that area so doesn't grow much. Long term you want to stimulate hair growth, caffiene shampoo, hair and nails vitamins. I've managed to grow them out a bit and every bit helps.

Leoni84 · 20/08/2018 14:52

I might give something like that a try Hazardswan, the only other problem, is that my hair is already quiet thick (or as the hairdresser would say - lots of hair as opposed to it being thick.

Perhaps I could just use the special shampoo on that area ?! :)

Yes that's what I do! Just use thickening/stimulating shampoos and products at the front. Also I've noticed a high messy bun/top knot looks better. Tidy up does just show off the cow lick.
