Capsule wardrobe. What do you wear day to day?

Should your life style make a difference?

A SAHM would have different needs to a person who works in an office.

I’m looking for a capsule wardrobe. I work from home, meetings are low key and do school runs etc.

What do you mostly wear day to day?

I always feel like this around this time of year. Must be the whole ‘back to school’ thing.

I work part time and wear uniform to work. The rest of my time is mostly spent doing school runs, coffee meet ups, soft play, play groups and dog walks.
I have a few nights out each month with friends and/or DH.
In Autumn/Winter I mostly wear:
Skinny jeans with boots or trainers
Nice jumpers
Tops with long chunky cardigan
Skirts with tights and boots.
Nicer stuff for wearing out - dress or smart tops to wear with skinny jeans.
I have several coats:
A warm winter coat for dog walks
A decent quality rain coat
Blazers for dressing up or down
Biker jacket
Trench coat
A fitted leopard print wool coat (and an also looking for a plain charcoal wool coat at the moment). Shoes: boots, trainers and heels for going out.
This pretty much sees me through every eventuality.

Decent coats really make a difference.

OP - I am in a similar situation to you.
I wear plain round neck jumpers (Boden Tilly wash well but also primark) and chino/Capri trousers a lot - with a necklace or scarf

I could easily wear jeans and a fleece but I'm trying to boost my confidence and making a bit more effort with clothes does help

So good plain basic shapes in colours that suit and then add interest with scarves/necklaces - it's not a new concept but it does work

Also try to decide your "style" - Boden/Toast/ Seasalt/Reiss (all for example) - you don't have to shop just from there but it helps to give a structure to your capsule if you have a common theme?

Also look at the capsule holiday wardrobe posts bloggers do and build on ones you like

That’s a good suggestion to work from a shop that is your style for ideas.

Your lifestyle definitely makes a difference.

I have clothes that are work only, clothes that are casual only and everything else can be either.

I have a different outfit for each day I work, then I mix them around so they look different the following week.
