Young folk's uniforms

Why oh why must young men wear identical uniforms?
I was in the hairdressers the other day and all of the male staff wore the regulation pre-slit jeans, tattoos, beards & ear piercings.
Depressing to see such boring conformity.

TBF, you can see it in most age groups. I am in my fifties and went to a performance of the Jackie musical a while ago. The number of women (including me) with highlighted bobs, white jeans or trousers and a loose, flow top was unbelievable. It looked like a cult.

Similarly if you drive past the local primary school there are hordes of 30 something yummy mummies in Breton tops, jeans and Converse with neat little cross over bags.

Even if you rock an alternative style there will be others like you. In Brighton you can’t move for men and women with undercuts, rainbow hair, ‘ethnic’ tattoos and handwoven boho gear.

For the record I have grown out and recoloured my mum bob and revamped my wardrobe a bit but the zeitgeist being what it is I am sure all my menopausal comrades will be doing the same.
