Just to clarify, I think you have had a Keratin treatment. I think they now call it a Brazilian blow dry but back in the day, a Brazilian and a Keratin treatment were 2 different things.

I am Keratin treatment queen. Had 2 done overseas in an American salon which were fantastic and cost £200. Back home I had one done in a salon which cost £150. It was TERRIBLE. Surprise, surprise it was Kerastraight and I bought the shampoo and conditioner too. Well, afterwards it felt sticky and squeaky and looked greasy. After this I started to do it on my own (after great advice on here). I bought a bottle of Chocoloco Gold (£30, get instructions off internet) and a set of Remington Airplanes (that go up to 220 degrees as needed) and I do it myself. I have thick long hair half way down my back and the Chocoloco bottle lasts 3 treatments. Even my brilliant hairdresser told me that it looks fantastic.

It is very, very, very important what you use afterwards. I used to use a shampoo and conditioner called Keratheraphy which was the bees knees but it looks like it is out of stock now whilst they rebrand it. I am using something else which I will get the name of. I think it needs to be salt free and sulphate free TBH. I also very highly rate Organix products and use their Moroccan series but also see that they have a Brazilian Keratin one too. I am going to buy that and try it. I have also tried every oil under the sun and for me Moroccan Oil (serum) in the blue bottle enhances the shine and texture too.

Please do not waste your money on doing it in a salon OP. What made me change was someone on here spelled it out for me. I used to think it was a highly technical and chemical exercise when basically what the salon do is 1) wash your hair with a cleanser 2) dry it and put on the Keratin conditioner 3) dry it again then straighten it to infuse the conditioner. That is it. The reason it is ££££££ is because the hairdresser cannot really do anything else whilst you are there and it takes about 2 hours, they lose money. This is also why they don't really like doing them. If I can do it, anyone can.
