Embedded blackhead!

agapanthus1979 · 18/08/2018 08:53

Hi.
Lovely topic here. I've had what looks like an embedded blackhead in my cheek for ages. Stupidly decided to have a squeeze. The result is....a bit of a mess. The blackheads seems 'higher up' (as in closer to the skin's surface) and is far more noticeable!
Any ideas on how to remove it without causing any more damage?
Thanks,
Ags

Did you break the surface of the skin above the blackhead first?

StoatOfManyColours · 18/08/2018 08:56

Firsty, there should have been a klaxon, and secondly, you should be in sporners corner, where the pus pervs hang out. Grin

Can you dig about with a needle? And film it, obv.

Sorry, posted too soon.

If you didn't, get a needle and pierce the layer of skin above it and then squeeze, should come out.

Hi,
Apologies for the lack of klaxon Grin
I didn't break the skin first, I just squeezed like an eejit.
Right, I'll try a needle. I should have left it alone; it wasn't too bad!!! Confused
What about those pore strip things? Would they be any good so you think?
Thanks everyone,
Ags

I had one of these, so deep in the skin it looked like a tiny mole, but I knew it wasn't! Probably had it a few years and about a month ago I got fed up of it and broke the skin and over a few days squeezed it out. Maybe not the best method but it worked and now the area is clear. No idea when it started and I didn't notice it!

Thanks for responding!
I've decided to step away from the needle - I can only see myself doing even more damage as I'm so useless!
Managed to book a dermologica facial for Monday. First one ever, so quite excited. I'm hoping the therapist will put right my idiocy!
In the meantime, I've bought some of that magnesium sulphate stuff, so I might wack some of that on.
I will never probe my pores again Blush
Thanks again for responding!

I would like to see a photo.

Don't judge me.

I know I keep harping on about Paula’s choice BHA but I had an embedded blackhead on the side of my nose for about 5 years. I’m not kidding - it just looked like a lump.

Started using the bha and around 2 weeks later the blackhead came to the surface and I was able to squeeze it out. You can buy a small bottle for around £8 I think! It really works

You need the sporners for this. Ask hq to move the thread for you.

They'll love it.

I'm judging you, weeBeasties! Grin To be honest, you'd be disappointed. It looks like nothing (apart from to me of course!!)
Worieddd, thanks for the rec. I've often though about dabbling with PC. Might see how Monday goes and then think about buying.
