Autumn 2018

I’m looking for inspiration! I’ve lost 2 stone over the past year and I’m really chuffed. For the first time in 12 years (since having DC1) I feel ok about myself. I’ve loved buying and wearing summer clothes and I’m looking ahead to Autumn.

What’s everyone planning to buy/wear? I just bought the faux leather jacket from TU which I plan to wear with a grey pleated jersey midi skirt from M&S plus a pair of Gazelles. I also bought a camo shirt/jacket from the Mint Velvet sale which I plan to wear with skinny jeans and trainers.

I’d love to hear about your autumn outfit ideas!

Those outfits sound cool.
Well apparently leopard print and red will be everywhere so I'm thinking about a deep red wrap coat and a leopard blazer. I'd wear these with my perennial skinnies and trainers or ankle hudson boots.
I'm liking that browns and tans are making a comeback - feels like it's been everything grey for soooo long.

I'm just watching to see what folks say but I don't want to buy anything!

JMAngel1 · 18/08/2018 09:09

I know - I'm on no spend August and September but will then set a £100 a month limit for Oct/Nov/Dec then no spend Jan/Feb. I try to do two no soend months every 3 months - keeps me in check!

JMAngel I admire your willpower! I love the idea of a leopard print blazer. Have you spotted any you like?

I always do a little shopping for my birthday in early june, and I'll allow myself another little shopping spree at christmas. I work hard to reign it in otherwise (used to have a little problem). This June I bought some dark brown cord skinnies and a fitted blazer that has dark brown as the base colour. I didnt realise I was tapping into a trend, I just see late sumnrr and autumn as a time to wear brown.

Autumn colouring here - so pleased to see so much mustard, rust and tan around (some of my best colours).

Also love autumn clothes: tweed capes and leather skirts and thin/silk polonecks. Bliss!

My autumn wishlist:

  1. smart suede pointed courts in tan
  2. camel city coat
  3. teal coat of some kind
  4. chocolate trousers

Pleased to hear leopard print is back - though I wear a fair amount of leopard anyway (including a gorgeous 50s swing coat).

Gah81 · 18/08/2018 09:59

Um... chocolate coloured trousers... chocolate trousers would come with a few practical difficulties, I think!

Floisme · 18/08/2018 10:08

Congratulations on the weight loss. I will be wearing:
Tweed - I'd have worn it anyway so I'm not sure if I'm pleased or not that it's back in fashion.
Wide leg cords.
Mannish slouchy tapered trousers (when it's too wet for wide legs).
Cashmere.

All of which I've already got. And I've just bought the Protected Species mac while it was 40% off.
I'll be looking for:
Brown - yippee.
Something that adds a bit of drama but I don't know what yet.
Velvet trousers if I can afford them. (I want real velvet, not velour.)

Lots of people loving brown. I hadn’t considered it before but will definitely have a look.

I'm loving the sound of these outfits! I have cord dungarees (black) and a cord dungaree dress (teal) and have my eye on some nice tweed and wool wide leg pants. Otherwise, I want to find a nice fitted blazer (not an easy task to fit my chest) and some nice vintagey blouses. Oh and I will be getting some merino from Uniqlo. Otherwise I am all ready for Autumn 😊
