I look permanently pissed off. I'm not, it's just the way my face hangs. I'm suddenly showing signs of age now I'm turned 50 and I wondered if I could do anything to stop the droop?

Apparently, Hyaluronic acid is the way to go, by injection.
I haven't tried it, but the serum helps, for sure.

princesstiasmum · 15/08/2018 19:55

Yes your mouth can be uplifted, at the corners, not sure if its fillers or botox, as i had it done, but really cant remember which one
Ask someone who administers both, Dr or qualified experienced person

LoughingLikeAShark · 15/08/2018 19:57

You need fillers, botox isn't suitable for that. Hyalauronic acid, as a PP says.

poppym12 · 15/08/2018 20:06

What were the results like princesstiasmum? Can you recall how long it lasted?

I don't have any lines or wrinkles above my cheeks at all but I feel like I've suddenly aged.

Filler.
It depends on the type of filler used and your own metabolism. You should get about a year out of it. Maybe more if you’re lucky.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 15/08/2018 21:47

Poppy, Hyaluronic acid lasts up to nine months. Look on the Internet for before and after pics.

poppym12 · 16/08/2018 07:59

I think I'll go for a consultation when I pluck up the courage. There's other bits I'd like tweaking too so it could prove to be very expensive. Maybe I'm having a mid life crisis Blush.

princesstiasmum · 16/08/2018 08:33

princesstiasmum · 16/08/2018 08:34

I had something called Teosyal

abitoflight · 16/08/2018 08:40

I have mine filled

poppym12 · 18/08/2018 18:57

How long have you found the fillers last for? Have you been pleased with the results so continue to have them done?

Effendi · 18/08/2018 19:15

I have fillers every 6-8 months in my lip lines (smoker), very happy with the results. I'm not in UK and it is expensive where I live, depending where I go I pay between 250 -300 EUR a time.

Floozymum · 18/08/2018 20:03

You can use Botox to lift the corners of the mouth. It depends if the droop is caused by a strong DOA muscle. It's a bit difficult to explain on paper but if you stick your bottom lip out and see a protruding line pulling from the corners of your mouth down to the jaw then Botox would work. Otherwise dermal filler would be needed to replace volume and lift.

You are best to get a consultant, most places will do them free of charge.

Girlslikeme · 18/08/2018 20:10

Filler yes but expensive and I find it doesn’t last long.

Jupiter9 · 18/08/2018 20:39

Just accept your ageing, it's life, have a 🍷

princesstiasmum · 18/08/2018 21:18

Jupiter9 how old are you,? you might change your mind one day, nothing wrong with a little help if people feel they need it,its a confidence booster sometimes

poppym12 · 18/08/2018 23:35

Oh dear jupiter. Alcohol is one of the worst things you can shove into your body to speed up the aging process. Your skin ie collagen and hydration, liver, sleep patterns etc are messed with so enjoy your growing old with the Wine and let us know how you're getting on with your love of aging Wink. I'm glad I'm teetotal.
