Ideas for ‘expanding’ this dress

Love this lace dress. Boden Rhiannon. It fits well on bottom half but not on top. Bust fine but my back is too fat. What do you think a dressmaker could do to make the zip go up?!

They could probably let out side seams. Take it to one and ask - they'll need to have a look.

There doesn't look like there's much in the seams to me, and Boden are usually quite mean with their cutting, but it might be possible to let the lining out to give you a bit more room.

Go up a size and alter bottom in to fit

I'd do as cherrypie says and go up a size so the bottom can be taken in. There probably won't be much seam allowance to let the top out. Can you look under the lining and see if there is enough material to let it out on the side seams?

Thanks you so much for suggestions. Not much spare material anywhere and it’s (unusually) well made so I think next size up is the best solution.
