I've recently turned 50 and although I have cleansed and moisturised since my teens, I'm wondering if I should do more for my skin?

I'm fortunate to have pretty good skin (probably genetics) albeit a few broken capillaries on my cheeks and I've noticed a few feint lines around my mouth/ jowls Blush. I don't have lines anywhere else, pores are fine and the only time I get any blemishes is if I've used too much of any product on my skin -the simpler the better for me really.

any recommendations please to sort these fine lines out before they need surgical intervention?

retinol, retinoids from the ordinary is very good value for money but make sure you follow the instructions... it’s strong stuff!

Do they help? I've added the things recommended for signs of aging to my basket - not sure how my skin would react to the oil based products as anything oily tends to make me itchy and blotchy.

I’ve never had a reaction but everyone is different. Have a look back at old threads, a lot of people were talking about it a while ago.
There was a program called the truth about aging (or products or something like that..) and retinol really works

Should be arriving tomorrow so I can get started on some grown up skin care. Better late than never I suppose.

Have you read all the advice about starting slowly with the retinol? maybe once or twice a week to start with increasing as your skin gets used to it, only use a few drops (increasing over time), also just a few drops of the oil after is plenty - i think it’s just to seal it in. You must also use spf on your face in the day and keep your face out of the sun. Good luck

The Liberty Advent Calendar is your friend. I have discovered many new fantastic products via this.

Dr Sebagh hyaurolonic acid (I'm sure I've spelt that wrong!).

Face oil.

Dermalogica exfoliating grains.

Also, I love Kiehls at the moment. Log on to Trinny Woodall's website (not Trinny London which is her make up brand) and she gives great advice.

Yes, it says to increase the retinol slowly. I'm a bit confused about the order to put them on. I know anything water based has to go on before anything oil based but I'm not sure what's what....
I've got buffet, hyaluronic acid 2%+b5, retinol 1% in squalane and granactive retinoid 2% emulsion (obviously the 2%is to use in the future if my skin tolerates the 1%).

Any ideas which order they should be applied in? I'm thinking am and pm will be buffet then hyaluronic acid and somewhere during the pm application I need to use retinol 1% squalane? I haven't bought any rosehip oil yet. I'll carry on with my normal moisturiser as changing too much at once may cause problems.

The liberty calendar sounds like a good idea vanilla but I only use cruelty free products so would probably have to give most of it away.

Poppy join the Fb group. Nice group, loads of info in Files and you can list your own Q and gets lots of help. We talk about all brands, not just the Ordinary.

Oh, the 1% is stronger than the 2% so start with the 2%!!

1 hyaluronic acid first on damp skin, you can do a couple of layers.
2 Buffet
Steps 1 & 2 can be AM and PM
3 granactive retinoid 2% emulsion - start just a couple of nights a week, must use a daily Spf with Retinoid use. Separate one, not just spf in moisturiser.

Thanks bagel. I think I did it wrong last night but my skin hasn't fallen off yet.

I don't use Facebook so am unable to get access to the group.
