What shoes with these trousers for Autumn/Winter?

I don't suit brogues, they make me look dumpy and ballet flats tend to give me pain, so I'm looking for an alternative for Autumn/Winter - any suggestions?

I should have said, I mean smart/work type shoes rather than casual and not very high.

Have you looked at Gabor shoes, they are very comfortable
