If so can I see some pics please? I'm imagining a short hair style (I mean like a feminine short back and sides, but not ultra, ultra short short) with a much longer section on top/fringe (but not whole of top) which can be pinned back into a mini quiff like thingy..is there such a thing, or am I imagining it? Thank you!

Emma Willis has hers like that

Sort of like Sue Perkins, but I'm thinking more of the "quiff" going from front to back? So, like this, but shorter at the sides maybe?..

Sounds a bit like Gwyneth Paltrow in Sliding doors! Sorry, I can't get a pic to link but you can Google it easily enough.

Second Emma Willis. Love her hair.

Like this? I found this by googling "pixie with undercut" which is basically what I get mine cut like!
Clippers up the sides and back, longer and choppy on top.

Definitely not Gwyneth (but thank you), definitely more like Emma and yours Pleasing Fabrics (but I'd have that top bit wheeked back in a faux quiff). Is it hard to style?

hair

I have a short asymmetric Bob type style, back and side shaved (grade 3) and longer on one side (mid cheek length). I have it floppy because I'm lazy much like the photo on @PleasingFabrics post but it's easily stylable with the right products - if I'm making an effort I will just shove some styling wax through it for texture and shape

This?

Depends what your hair is like, mine is quite soft and flat left to it's own devices so I need alot of product to get it sticking up! (I've never done the full on quiff though) but it's quick to style and It's better a day or two after I've washed it. But, if I'm feeling lazy it still looks ok sleek and flat.
Mine is a grade 1 fading up to a grade 4.
