pores and fine lines help

Looking for product recommendations for two skin complaints - I tried searching previous threads but got lost....

I have quite visible pores on my nose and cheeks. Other thanthose I have got my skin to a place where I can wear minimum make up (but still put some concealer and powder over nose and cheeks) So i am looking for a product to help minimise them long term but also some kind of primer, serum or similar that I can wear alone so they are not as visible but I don't need to wear actual make up if that makes sense?

Also in a picture taken over the weekend I doscovered some upsetting fine lines at my inner eyes, outer nose and around my lips when I smiled! help! obviously I know that a cream isn't going to be a miraculous cure but just something that may "soften" them!

I sometimes use a product called Nanoblur on fine lines. I put all my make up on then dab a tiny amount over the lines. It creates an optical illusion with light so the lines look invisible. I'm not sure I've explained that too well but if your lines are fine I would recommend it.

There are some fantastic primers on the market. I don't tend to wear anything on top of them either (heavy make up appears to be the thing the kids are doing these days but I can't get behind it).

Smashbox make a range of great primers and I'd recommend the pore minimising one based on what you said

A mattifying primer tends to help when you are shiney, so not what you need, but it may help

For pore minimizing look at niacinamide as an ingredient. A starting point could be the Niacinamide + Zinc serum from The Ordinary. It's not expensive and has a high concentration of niacinamide.

Fine lines are obv a part of life ... but hydration is key of course. You could try focusing on hydrating products, which when coupled with for example hyaluronic acid locks the moisture in quite deep down. Obv nothing works if your body isn't hydrated from inside. :) A vitamin A/retinoid cream is another way to go to combat fine lines.

I try to make sure I drink plenty of water, green tea and even twinings "glow" tea to keep hydrated. Also trying to eat more "skin friendly" foods

I've had the best results with the Smashbox and Benefit (Porefessional) primers as previously mentioned.
