Garda hotel evening wear

Never been on a package holiday before. Off to Garda. What will people be wearing for dinner. Not fancy where we are going but I want to blend in ! In hotels with work I usually put a top on with jeans and eat out at casual places so very causal clothing but what will I need ? I’m having a last minute panic and not bought my traditional holiday pants yet either Grin

From what I could tell, people were pretty casual. I wasn't there long though. Absolutely stunning place. Loved it.

I suppose it depends upon where you go. We went to a little hilltop restaurant.

Polkapjs · 08/08/2018 22:13

Casual sounds good. I get so hot with the slightest heat that I’m dreading being a melting lump! Anyone know of a quick and cheap maxi dress maybe?

A nice vest top and skirt, shorts. A little sundress? I honestly didn't see anyone particulary dressed up.

We will be at the hotel a lot as on half board mainly but would like a few meals out and don’t want to be a scruff bag. What did you wear to hilltop? Where was it? Any recommendations would be good for food too!

Most people out and about looked fresh iykwim.

There are a few restaurants on the strada de la fora. Absolutely beautiful views. If you have a car, take a meander up there. I don't remember the name of it. I just wore my shorts and a vest top:). To other places in Italy I just wore an embroidered sundress, or my shorts and a pretty top or a maxi dress in previous years.

This is a fab dress. Day to night. Gorgeous and lightweight. I had one similar in an electric blue.

Polkapjs · 08/08/2018 22:28

Oh I like that - is it worth the price? Can you ever get discount?

You can be referred. If you start a thread, someone will refer you and you will get £10 off.

We're here at the moment. It's absolutely boiling and people are fairly casual and dressed in cool comfy stuff. Shorts and tops or sundresses etc in the evenings. It really doesn't matter what you wear anything goes!

LoniceraJaponica · 08/08/2018 23:09

Is it actually the town of Garda that you are staying in?

We stayed here when we went, and had a fab holiday. Just wear cool casual wear in the evenings - summer dresses, maxis, summer trousers and tops. Jeans will be too warm.

We are in Peschiera just been to TK Max but nothing in cotton aside from crazy shaped things. My son came and was giving me the thumbs down FOR EVERYTHING

Peschiera market is brilliant. I bought a lovely dress there.

Did anybody else read the thread title and think, ‘sequinned uniform and be-dazzled truncheon’?

Polkapjs · 09/08/2018 21:23

Yes me just now! And it’s my thread Grin

Polkapjs · 09/08/2018 21:23

Wonder if I’ll see any well dressed truncheons

That sounds rude now I read it back. Apologies for lowering the tone
