I currently have a Kipling across body bag I am bored with.
I have seen a Maya backpack online..not sure how secure it is.
Budget up to £100.

Boyatu leather backpacks if you like leather look nice, they're on amazon but I'm watching with interest because I find non-leather doesn't wear well.

I'd love a new beautiful backpack.

Depends which city - Barcelona and Rome are devils for pickpockets so I wouldn't trust a backpack that could be unzipped unawares on the metro for example ( voice of bitter experience!)
A cross body would work better and be more secure. The slim and flat Radley cross bodys are comfortable and have enough room for guidebook/ purse/ suncream etc

Fossil do really nice cross body bags - their KeyPer range is lovely.

I bought one recently from Fat Face, for a holiday in Rome.
It's a fabric bag, a good size, and can be worn crossbody.
