I desperately need to update my autumn work wardrobe. Does anyone have views on The Fold?

Their dresses are really great - proper long sleeves good necklines completely boardroom appropriate but not boring. My favourite white shirt of all time is from there.

I don’t like the fabric of the le Marais workwear though. Shiny polyester tat!

I have a couple of dresses from them. They are great but the zipper is shit. The general style of their clothing is a bit same-y and old fashioned. I would say they are better than hobbs or LKB and they do alterations so you don;t have to worry (though quite expensive), but they are not as modern as brands like theory. I would honestly pick up stuff from NAP or matches sale and take to a tailor.

This is all very helpful, thanks. Their website looks nice and I'm thinking of booking an appointment, but I guess my main worry is whether they are a bit old-fashioned or even frumpy.

Yeah I think try an appointment. For me, the earlier style dresses were nice, but when I went recently I found their stuff to be a bit old fashioned.

To be fair though, I have a bit of a tummy overhang and their dresses cover it quite nicely :-)

Are a lot of their dresses dry clean only?
