Help me find some swimwear!

I'm going to Centre Parcs on Friday and I have no swimwear. I need something that will look nice at the spa, but also hold everything in on the rapids & waterslides. (Could possibly have more than 1)

The tricky part, I'm a size 16 and wear a 32GG bra. And self conscious about my stomach.

No bright or pastel colours or crazy patterns and not red. Recommendations gratefully received!

I just came on to ask the same thing. Slightly different shape to you though. 8-10 on the bottom but 34F up top. I loved this one from Bravissimo but just couldn’t get the fit right. It was either too baggy round the bum or too tight in the boob.

Figleaves have some good options

TheCatFromOuterSpace · 06/08/2018 20:05

I've recently switched to a bikini top and board shorts. The bikini top is a proper bra sized one which fits me, and the board shorts mean I don't need to pull my bottoms out of my bum crack every time I get off the water slide.

Have treated myself this year to a panache one piece in purple and am so glad I did. I am a size 16 and a 36ff and for once I actually feel confident that I don't look a complete state, I usually try to find a harvest ( all is safely gathered in) costume which makes me feel grumpy.

wizzler · 06/08/2018 20:11

Not grumpy... frumpy!

Found the details

It is the panache portofino in aubergine.

Bobbybobbins · 06/08/2018 20:18

You could get a tankini top then get normal bottoms for the spa and board short type bottoms for the water slides? Fat face do this type but not sure how supportive their tankini tops are.

MummySparkle · 06/08/2018 20:37

Thanks ladies. I was thinking board shorts, but I can't find any in my size that aren't really extortionate. I hate swimwear shopping so much! Last year I gave up and wore my sports bra under a sports tank top with some bikini bottoms.

DH just caught me looking at swimwear...

DH "Why are you looking online? Wouldn't it be better to try stuff on?"

Me: because there won't be anything that fits in shops

DH: but there's loads of girls walking around with boobs like yours

Me: yes but o bet they don't have swimwear that fits

DH: well that's silly, why do t they make stuff in the sizes people need?

My point exactly... I will have another look at fitted tankini tops

Fig leaves do have some great stuff. I just ordered one which is great and holds in both my fat tum and my 34EEs. A minor miracle!

I don't try them in shops for same reason!

Try decathlon for board shorts. I got a couple of pairs from there. I got freya bikini tops from Amazon and brastop.

MummySparkle · 06/08/2018 21:46

Hmmm, I've been sitting outside the DCs rooms waiting for them to sleep and still no joy Confused

I think I am going to have to go for a bikini and a sports vest again, but I have found a nice bikini on sale in bra stop. I'm not sure on the bottoms, but as it's got black trim I'm going to order some high waist black ones to wear with it.

Decathlon is a good idea for board shorts. I might have a look at running shorts too in case there's something multipurpose!

Figleaves - try Speedo Sculpture

Ouch44 · 07/08/2018 07:40

Just remembered I got some women's swim shorts off amazon for a water park. Just looked and they still have loads.

BikeRunSki · 07/08/2018 07:54

The Speedo Sculpture tante is good, but you do need to size up a couple of times. The fabric is extremely thick and strong and not as stretchy as most swimwear.

I had a Freya tankini from Figjeaves once which I loved. The tops are basically a sports bra with a swim vest attached and come in bra sizes. You buy the bottoms seperately and they come in dress sizes, so you can get the right combo to fit.

MummySparkle · 07/08/2018 08:00

I found some on amazon in the end. Black with a turquoise patterned waistband, hopefully they don't clash with the bikini! I've ordered a workout top too to cover up a bit more in the pool. But I'll be sexy in the spa Grin
