Plus size clothes - Cos-like?

Hi, can anyone recommend me a source of plus size clothing that I might like? I like Cos clothes, as an example, but they don't make bigger sizes. I don't find much on Asos that I want to buy, or Simply Be. Any suggestions?

There are some good options on Violeta by Mango and their sales can have really good reductions too. I'll have a think for any others.

3stonedown · 06/08/2018 10:14

Mango have a plus size collection which has some nice bits

3stonedown · 06/08/2018 10:14

Ha - cross post

Beaverhausen · 06/08/2018 10:14

Have you tried the plus size section at TK Maxx? They really have some lovely things, also I get a lot of things from Simply Be but it is a trial to find the size that fits you as their plus size range I am a size 20 in t shirts but have to buy a 24 from them.

zebedeecactus · 06/08/2018 10:35

Ooh Mango, I didn't know they did plus size! Thanks fizzpoppin and 3stonedown. And thanks Beaver, I do look on Simply Be but I tend not to find things I'd buy- often I like something but it's sleeveless so am not keen, for example, iyswim

Navabi or curvissa

Waltzingmatilda65 · 06/08/2018 19:29

I don’t know what Cos is like but Phase Eight do Studio 8 which has a plus size section and Seasalt also do some things up to size 26. It might be worth checking both of these out. Coast and Dorothy 0erkins also do plus sizes.

LunaTheCat · 06/08/2018 20:44

If a cos shop is near you worth. A try on as some cos clothes are large - I am a 12/14 and hvae several XS dresses from Cos

Thanks all, am off to google the suggestions! And good points about Cos sizing!

Cos sizing is notoriously unreliable on line!
I have found actual sizing eg 36, 42 pretty reliable but things with S,M,L etc are anyone’s guess!
(Cos lover, sadly lives Southern Hemisphere)

BangingOn · 07/08/2018 14:05

I’m a size 18 and have bought lots from Cos, it is trial and error though. I also buy quite a bit from Navabi, although you need to trawl through the drab things to find the gems.

SealSong · 07/08/2018 14:06

H&M plus and La Redoute plus are worth a look. Also Elvi.

SealSong · 07/08/2018 14:11

Actually scratch Elvi. Just had a look on there and most of thier current clothes are odd in the extreme.

whattimeislove · 07/08/2018 14:13

I like la redoute generally but beware of all the polyester Smile

Fatbelliedgirl · 07/08/2018 14:16

Scarlett & Jo, Lindy Bop, Lady V, Next, George, Dorothy Perkins all good for plus size. Yours Clothing poor quality imo so wouldn't buy from there and agree re Simply Be unreliable sizing.

Waltzingmatilda65 · 07/08/2018 15:06

I 6ft tall size 20 and am after some jeans in a size 20 that are long enough (34/35 inside leg) and won’t stop my circulation (I have chunky legs).
A pair of navy jeans or navy trousers as above to go with the top in the photo below.
Also a plain navy 3/4 sleeve casual loose top that can be dressed up with chunky jewellery or down with a scarf in a cool fabric (as I often over heat even in autumn and winter) in a size 20.
Also a jacket in a 20 that has long enough sleeves and fits me correctly I like Barbour Style (but we don’t have any stockists nearby) or leather or if not a smart navy cardigan/jacket. Can anyone help?

Another thought for Cos-like is Kin at John Lewis, I’ve not tried any but it looks a similar style.

zebedeecactus · 08/08/2018 12:33

Thanks Banginon, JL Kin is a great suggestion!!

OP posts:
veryveryquietly · 08/08/2018 13:54

Kin is great though floaty dresses are often viscose rather than cotton (which Cos's often are). Things marked 'oversized' by Kin run very very large - I have a size 20 Kin top that is enormous on my size 22-24 top half.

Thesuzle · 08/08/2018 14:04

Hi All
Anybody with large feet? All the beautiful shoes in the world stop at a 7
I’m an 8.5 i think and one width over from standard Clarks shop stock,
Yes I know I can order online with them, but why the bias towards small of foot,?
I want pretty shoes HELLLLPPPPP

whattimeislove · 08/08/2018 14:26

Again la redoute goes up to size 10 I think

NotMrsTumble · 08/08/2018 14:29

ASOS also do larger shoe sizes (DD takes a 43 /9)

Stripeybum · 08/08/2018 14:30

ASOS White has a Curve section with similar more edgy designs
