Do you tuck tops into shorts?

I’ve finally found shorts that fit my hips and aren’t too big on my waist. Tucking in the tops shows off my waist but I don’t know if it looks a bit old fashioned. My tops are loose fitting so I don’t know if they bag out too much if tucked in.

Tucking in looks a LOT better! More modern, less mumsy IMHO! Smile
Where did you get the shorts?

TickledOnion · 05/08/2018 10:04

Thank you.
The shorts are from Dorothy Perkins but there are hardly any left in the sale. I usually hate shorts but these are actually ok.

Sorry I think put looks way better. I don't think tucking in tops is ever a great look really. Love the outfit.

DailyMailcanfuckthefuckoff · 05/08/2018 10:08

I'll admit I don't, as it draws a lot of attention to areas of my body that I don't like, but it looks GREAT on you! It really flatters your waist.

Passthecake30 · 05/08/2018 10:18

I think either goes, the slim young things tuck theirs in?!

I'm 6ft tall so I don't tuck mine in as I'd look like a flamingo Blush

TooManyRedRedWines · 05/08/2018 11:04

I think it looks best tucked in.

As a PP said - what do the young uns do? Can someone enlighten me? I out of habit don't tuck tops in - but maybe I should?

TickledOnion · 05/08/2018 11:11

I feel smarter tucked in but also a bit like my mum!

Definitely 100% tucked in.
You have a good waist that's completely hidden when your top is out.

The young uns tuck their tops in atm and high waisted stuff is in too.

EnidButton · 05/08/2018 14:46

Or you could do that half tuck thing where it's just tucked in at the front or to one side. (French tuck for anyone who watches Queer Eye) Supposed to look like you accidentally tucked a bit in but actually takes about 20 mins of faffing ime.

Tucked in looks good, OP.

Awkwardly, most of my tops don't tuck into or go out of my shorts as they're cropped. Blush

Avocado0nToast · 05/08/2018 14:50

I was going to suggest a half tuck like EnidButton. Looks a bit more effortless...although always takes me ages to get it right! That's how I've been wearing my looser tops, would show your shape more.

LockedOutOfMN · 05/08/2018 14:50

French tuck looks good, EnidButton.

poppym12 · 05/08/2018 15:09

I'd say half tucked in or wear a closer fitting top /tshirt that will show your waist when left out or tucked in.

flutteryleaves · 05/08/2018 21:52

definitely tuck it in - you have a great shape to show. leaving it out does nothing for you.

Macarena1990 · 05/08/2018 21:55

I half tuck!

CakeNinja · 05/08/2018 22:03

I prefer to leave mine untucked (skirts, I don’t wear shorts as i haven’t found a pair that isn’t too short for me!) because my waist is far from my best feature and I don’t want to draw attention to it. Yours looks good as an outfit together, tucked in looks great.

Beansonapost · 05/08/2018 22:11

Half is the way to go!

MoltonSilver · 06/08/2018 00:06

Leave it out.

Personally, I think the half tuck thing looks like you're trying to hard.

EnidButton · 06/08/2018 00:23

I think that's why it takes ages to get right Molten, there's a fine line between casually draped and tucked in a bit and overly arranged so it looks too perfect. Done right I like it.

Still think tucked in or half tuck will suit Tickled much more than all out.

EnidButton · 06/08/2018 00:24

Meant Molton sorry, spelling is terrible today.
