BrandAlley and Radley bags

Hi All!
I am new to mumsnet and this is my first question :)
Basically bought a Radley bag from BrandAlley which is meant to sell genuine items. The bag itself looks like the real deal but comparing to my friends identical bag I’ve noticed a couple of differences. First of all the production date is different, is that normal? And the other more worrying to me fact that the lining of my bag from BrandAlley seems to be made from 80% polyester and 20%viscose where’s my friends bag is made 76% 24%. Can anyone tell me if the same bags can be produced at different dates and if they can differ in material components %. Thank you and sorry if I sound daft.

I buy stuff from Brand Alley all the time. It’s definitely genuine. I wouldn’t worry about slight detail changes made on different dates; I think manufacturers do change things as seasons progress. Eg I once saw the same dress change from cotton to viscose in Monsoon, - same dress, same code/name/price etc. But completely different fabric.

I guess It could simply be that suppliers change the spec of something, but the shop wants to make another batch because the first lot was successful.

I have contacted BrandAlley about not being happy with the stitching etc and was refunded 25% cause of it. Which is fair enough but now the leather is actually coming off in places which makes me think it’s not an genuine product! Not to mention some bits are not sewn on straight but to the side. I have contacted BrandAlley again with pictures and will see what will be done about it. I even asked if the products are returns etc but that question was completely avoided. To be honest the bag looks like it didn’t pass the quality control and was given to BrandAlley to sell cheap. Rant over.

They’ll probably give you a refund then. They’ve always been very helpful about refunding me when things have arrived broken/incorrect.

When she gets back to me, I will say I’d like to return the bag and get a refund. There’s another bag on there I like so very tempted to get it but as the same time I’m fearing disappointment. Glad you are happy with your bag House4. What bag did you get?

I've had a few issues with Brand Alley and so no longer shop with them. However, I never doubted an item's authenticity, if it ever arrived!!!
I bought a bag from a Radley outlet and I suspect your one might be one of those. It looks as though they make items specifically for their outlet stores which are of a different composition and poorer workmanship to their full priced items.
Happy to be told I am wrong.

I have a Radley bag bought from their outlet store and the reason it was so heavily reduced was that they knew that it was a bit of a substandard batch in terms of how the leather was wearing and told us that at the point of sale.

Thank you for your replies. The closest Radley Outlet is like 4 hours drive from where I live so I can’t really compare the one bought from BrandAlley to one bought from their outlet. Still contemplating if you keep the bag or to return it. And if I do return it, i done think I’ll go for the other one. Rather put money away and buy one from Radley website. They have sales after all ;)

I just bought a BrandAlley bag today. It fell in my cart accidentally while I was ordering some sneakers.
