What shoes with this dress?

Hi all, I recently bought this Boden dress which I love but now I am stuck for what shoes to wear. I dislike open toe (ugly feet) and am not great in heels (DH is also short). I have some shiny gold converse or would theu be too clunky? I have big feet (size 8) and always struggle to find pretty shoes which are comfy but not frumpy. Not for a specific event, think smart pub and restaurants, DH would be in shirt and jeans.

You've posted a mobile link which might look strange to people on desktop (just remove the m.)

Definitely not converse - too clunky and just doesn't fit the style of dress.
Converse/sneakers should be worn with casual summer dresses and skirts and jeans and that's about it.

I would go for a pretty flat shoe - a pointed toe would make it look more elegant (don't believe the myth that women with larger feet can't wear these, 8 isn't even that big).

Asos have a fantastic selection. I've just gone to "flat shoes" and found loads of lovely ones. Here are a few that I like best with that dress:
