Estée Lauder Double Wear?

I need a foundation that I don’t sweat off - I have used rimmel 25 hour one for long enough and have found that really good but in this weather I’m just sweating it off and it’s gathering in patches on my face. I use primer and a setting spray but my sweaty face will not be contained!

Does this work? I am willing to pay out for a decent foundation as I know they last but wondered if anyone had any input on this one?

Thanks 😊

Try it without a primer- in this weather I find it best not to add an extra layer of moisture when your face is already producing enough on its own

I use the double wear light and I love it. Its stays all day and has great coverage. I dont use a primer but I do use SPF.

Make sure you let all layers of product dry before you apply the next one, i.e. I put my serum and moisturiser on and then get dressed or do my hair while it dries. Then I apply SPF (Frezyderm is amazing) and brush my teeth or something while this dries. Then I apply my makeup.
I think of it like nail varnish, if you dont let the coats dry before the next layer, it smudges.

Double wear is fantastic- I have the DW original and the light, and here both great.

You can get some samples from Boots with enough for 2-3 applications in each to give you a good idea I feel to works for you before you commit.

Depends on your skin. I have dry skin that's in good condition. I apply a balm moisturiser and then eldw and it stays on me.

I used to use Double Wear when working as a dancer, as recommended to me by other dancers. It is GREAT. As you can imagine, dancing involves a lot of sweating, and I have slidey skin; eye make-up doesn't last two minutes before it slides right off. Double wear did not slide off. In fact the only downside is that you have to do a lot of work to get it all off at the end of the night! I used to rub baby oil on my face to break it down before double cleansing.

DoubleWear is great for me. Might work out less expensive than you think as there is absolutely no need for primer/setting spray - quite simply it would still be on your face a week later if you hadn't removed it.

Properly taking it off is quite important with it, a wipe won't suffice - generally an oil first, then a normal cleanser should be fine. Doesn't have to expensive, could be Simple for both.

I use coconut oil to take my face off anyway so sounds like that would be ok.

I’ll grab a sample next time I’m in Debenhams. I would just love make up to stay on my sweaty face lol

DW is fab but as I've developed lines on my forehead it just seems to collect in them iyswim and its quite drying so I use a very oily moisturiser which seems to help. Smile I also find charcoal fash wash takes it off really well.

Omg face* wash, that sounded wrong Blush

I have just bought The Ordinary foundations - they have one full coverage one which is INCREDIBLE. Usually by the time I take my makeup off, the flannel is just the cleanser, but after wearing this in the heat for 10+ hours, the flannel was beige! I couldn't believe it. It's less than £6 so I would give it a go before forking out!

spanishwife · 03/08/2018 15:38

My top tip is to spray setting spray before applying too!

Butterfly1975 · 03/08/2018 15:42

DW is excellent but when you're at the counter do check the colour matching they do carefully in daylight! I was told they'd 'warm up' my skin tone and ended up with my face several shades darker than the rest of me Grin

Ollivander84 · 03/08/2018 16:04

What setting spray are you using? Urban decay is the best

fruityb · 03/08/2018 17:15

I use Rimmel setting spray as I love it - and I do use it as a primer too. It’s really good and keeps my face on but I’m just sweating so much at the moment it’s not doing the trick! Just saw this foundation advertised and wanted some opinions.

Will look out for that one Spanishwife

You have to buy online from either cult beauty or ASOS, or direct from the deciem/ordinary website. Youll have to guestimate your shade but I got mine bang on using the pics. Their skincare is great, recommended by my dermatologist sister. Chemical focused but low cost.
I've been wearing Chanel foundation for 10 years and I'll never switch back, really a miracle product. Sounds like I work for them haha

dudsville · 04/08/2018 11:12

One of the several reasons I chose eldw was that it's meant to not transfer to clothing. I do find this happens but I suspect it's due to my rich moisturiser. Does anyone else find eldw transfers on to clothing?

TrueBlue22 · 04/08/2018 11:15

Try a sample of the new Dior forever undercover too. I've used EL DW for years as it was the best foundation I had used (and I tried many!) and I actually think this Dior one is better. The original Dior forever however, is not.
