New Hairdresser "the Grass is not always greener"

So, I live in a small town and normally go to a hairdresser who cuts hair well and is good with colour but her staff are very rough washing hair, won't blow dry in a natural way, and her colour really kills your scalp (Wella I think). On a recommendation from a friend I tried a new upmarket hairdresser. Result: She cut layers all over my wavy hair and said I should work with the texture and leave it wavy. She also said the other hairdresser was terrible for using thinning scissors.

But! After a month I have come to realise that the wavy do is more high maintenance than the semi straight way that I dry it. I literally have to use loads of products and dry it very very carefully or it just looks a frizzy mess. I also had to chop a mullet layer off the back bottom myself. Lastly I went to get a masking treatment which she had said previously would costs me 20 euro, and left paying 42.

In fairness, her colour and products are very gentle on the scalp and her staff are lovely. However, I feel I was taken in by all her talk about how I should change everything about my hair, when actually it wasn't that bad. Now, I am going away in two weeks time and I don't know if I should return to the new place or just go to my home town salon?

My friend actually went to a different girl in this salon but I was attended to by the owner and now I would feel awkward if I made an appointment but with the other stylist....

What should I do?

You're a paying customer and can go wherever you like. Don't feel guilty for a second.

Also, keratin treatments. Alfaparf Lisse Design Keratin Therapy. My hair is softer than Channing Tatum's bottom and no more frizz.

Go to one salon for the cut and the other for colour. It’s your head 😀

I’ve been going to the same salon for about 10 years and swap and change stylist whenever I feel like it.
