Philips Lumea - should I persevere?

I have seemingly the perfect skin/hair combination for laser and I bought a Lunea after reading multiple rave reviews from sources I trust.

I have had it about a year now. At first, I definitely followed their fortnightly schedule very carefully for about 8 sessions. Then drifted away from it again and recently have been re-started a few months back, this time using it weekly.

The results have been mixed. There is definitely less hair on my legs than there had been. I have lovely smooth hairless patches about the size of my hand, on the inner part of both legs, just below the knee. But there is still plenty of hair growing through on the rest of my legs, albeit thinner than it was.

My question now is how do I know when I've gone as far as Lumea can get me? Would salon treatment have better results? Or should I just keep plugging away with it and hope I eventually get there?

Has anyone had such a long run with Lumea and emerged with good results. I have very pale skin and very dark hair, so I thought it would suit me really well. After building up as they recommend, I use it on the max level now all the time.

I have had mine for a few years now, and have no hair on my legs at all. Can't remember how long it took to get to this stage but it was a gradual process and I remember being at the stage you are at. You could go to a salon and I think the results are faster but you will have to have regular top up treatments

Oh thank you! That's good to hear that further improvement might be on the cards. I think I fell a bit too much for the excited promises from all the reviewers about results in 8 weeks or so. I will keep on over the autumn and winter and hopefully have bare legs the next time summer rolls around.

I've had one for a couple of years but only used it regularly for a bit under a year. It was mainly for under arms and I saw no difference in either quantity of hair or speed of hair growth during regular use. I keep thinking I'll get it out again and give it another go, but it's so disheartening when you don't seen results over a fairly long period of trying.

I found it did nothing much and have posted about it before, e.g. here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/a3322219-Tria-4-X

If you can afford salon, go for it as it's so much faster.

I'm glad it's not just me! I've seen so many rave reviews about Lumea results and been a bit Confused. I have had mine for just less than a year and have used diligently every 2 weeks. Regrowth is definitely lighter and I do have some hair free patches but overall I'm not blown away

I will keep at it for another year and hopefully see better results soon
