Need new straighteners, GHD or Cloud9? Wide plate or normal?

My GHD 3's are slowly dying now so I need to look at replacements.

I have fine hair but lots of it, would wide plates be too much? the hair dresser uses them on me but I use them 3-4 times a week at home.

Following as I'm in the same boat

Do not get the GHD platinum. They're expensive and rubbish. I'm furious that I got talked into them

Dancer12345 · 29/07/2018 13:57

madcatladyforever is your hair thick? I have very fine hair and not much of it so just wondering how effective it’d be on my hair.

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/07/2018 14:47

Can you return them Camsie?.

I have T3 they are really good and have 100v-240v so can be used anywhere.

KTD27 · 29/07/2018 15:42

Cloud 9s are bloody brilliant. I made the switch about 6 months ago and haven’t looked back

Kool4katz · 29/07/2018 15:46

If you colour your hair at all, ensure the straighteners you use have an adjustable temperature setting and don't go higher then 180 degrees max otherwise you'll fade your colour very quickly. I don't like ghd's myself although I've still got an early pair I use very occasionally as a spare but I prefer my Cloud Nine straighteners.

Dh is going to replace the cable. So hopefully they will live to straighten another day.

These are amazing straighteners. Seriously, I was doubtful but the reviews persuaded me and they weren't wrong. 6 months and I use them pretty much every day.

Those look great liskee I might try them.

Strongbeatsskinny · 30/07/2018 14:17

Cloud 9 much better than GHDs I replaced my two year old GHDs for cloud 9s because they were wrecking my hair.

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/07/2018 14:57

Those amazon ones are tempting. You can buy reconditioned straighteners online you know.

I bought the amazon ones. I used them on 220c as my hairs very resistant to styling and my hair is still straight the next morning. So I wont need to restyle as often.

With ghd's the ends always flicked out the next day.

Have you heard of Loreal Steam Pods? I love mine, leave hair less, dead flat straight like my original Ghd did. The steam means on fizzy ends and is kinder to your hair.

chuffnstuff · 26/09/2018 12:07

I've got the Kipozi ones from Amazon too. Really like them.

Unicornandbows · 26/09/2018 12:13

Cloud9

Bombardier25966 · 26/09/2018 12:13

Have bookmarked the Amazon ones for when mine die!

I think people are catching on to the super expensive straighteners being a lot of hype. I was using ghds but took some old Babyliss ones away with me. I'd forgotten how good they are. Come home and am sticking with the Babyliss ones, they're kinder to my hair and the style lasts longer.

Cloud 9. The company is owned by the guy that used to own GHD. They are just like GHD's used to be before the new owners messed with them.
