Autumn essentials

I've decided to ditch the cheapish stuff this year and get some nice autumn winter bits and pieces. I'm thinking nice CASHMERE brown boots etc. What are your must haves for a good quality timeless wardrobe?

Edit...cashmere jumpers and brown boots.not cashmere boots...how weird would that be

Brown tones are not usually my first choice, but at 62 I have acquired them over time. Burgundy and wine tones tend to blur the boundaries between black and brown, but black and tan is also a useful blending combination.
