I need eye make-up related help!

I had an operation on my eye on Monday which means that the whites of my eye are currently a gorgeous shade of bloodshot/red. My eye is also still swollen and surrounding areas bruised.

I meant to be at a big birthday do tonight and I don’t feel like I can go without make up on. I’m confident that I can apply it without causing any problems to my eye; the specialist said that I can wear it as long as I feel comfortable.

So, do I go for something subtle, and just accept the fact that it’s going to be really obvious that my eye looks... odd? Or do I go dramatic to take away from the redness?

I would go subtle personally because even with heavy you're unlikely to be able to hide the swelling and redness completely, maybe just foundation to cover and even out and some mascara x

Thanks Lisaloolops

It seems so stupid that I can’t even contemplate going without make up but it’s just not something I can do.

I wondered if it was better to just keep it simple or if there was a way to balance the redness out with a different colour on my eyelid or something?! It’s probabmy just easier to keep it simple.

I would, it will be less irritating for your eye too x

I don't leave the house without make up either lol! Although as I get older I wear less as there are too many creases for it to sink into!

Conceal your eyelids first, then set it with a skin coloured eyeshadow. This will coverage everything so you could then maybe do a smoky look with a bit of shimmer on half the lid.
