Has anyone come across any sandals with arch support? Inserts don't work so well with sandals!

Birkenstocks. Or the cheaper Schuh versions.

FitFlops are v comfy

I have PF and wear Crocs wedges and flip flops - Cleo flip flops and Leigh wedge
Ecco gladiator sandals (cushioned, trainer like sole)
Fly sandals/wedges - these aren't quite as effective so wear when I'm not walking

I had PF for 2 years. I was having 3 x weekly physio and excercisinng 40 minutes a day with little relief. I was on the waiting list for shock wave therapy and then a friend told me to invest in a pair Fit Flops.

I swallowed hard at paying 50 quid for what looked like flip flops to me but desperate to try anything I did.

4 to 6 weeks I noticed a big relief but I wore them permanently and I mean ALWAYS. If I get up from the sofa to walk to kitchen yo put kettle on or upstsirs to the loo they went on. If i reverted to bare feet or walking any distance in other shoes the PF started to return.
2 years on I have several pairs. I live in them. Even in winter i wear them.as slippers in the house.This time of year is the best time ro buy a pair with end of summer sales so get looking.

In the winter I buy supportive insoles to put in boots etc as I have v wide feet and other shoes in the Fit Flops range are not wide enough for me but they do do boots etc as well.

Also Fitflops! And Naot sandals (they’re Israeli, but last forever and you can get new insoles for them).

Fitflops did nothing for me (looks ruefully at the expensive pair of fitflops winter boots invested in last autumn...)

For me the only relief is from Birkenstocks.
I live in them. Sandals in summer. Clogs round the house. Shoes and boots in autumn and winter.
Expensive but well worth it for me.

Always swore by Skechers for PF but this year also discovered Birkenstocks which are also marvellous. Expensive but SO good for my feet

Hotter do sandals where the insole can be removed and your own orthotics can be added instead.

If Fitflops work for you, you can often get them reasonably cheaply from Amazon.

These were recommended to me by a Podiatrist when I had a foot problem and needed a rigid sole with a slight rocker sole. They were no good for me because they did have a higher instep which I couldn't manage so they might be perfect and are super comfy (rubber soles). Not cheap though!

They also do a boot version, a clog version and a sandal version :-)

Just wanted to say I suffered terribly with this, you can’t use them with sandals but memory foam inserts or sketchers helped me loads

FITFLOPs or Vionic sandals are the only ones I have had success with.

Another PF sufferer here and also wear fit flops 90% of the time. always try and buy in sales, TKMaxx sometimes have them

If you have PF does a hard or soft sole/insole help? Mine seems worse after wearing Skechers memory foam trainers.

I have PF and find memory foam trainers make it much worse. The only thing that helps is constantly wearing my insoles. Problem didn't start until September so haven't needed sandals yet!

Avoid sketchers memory foam and anything too soft. It’s good arch support you want and a hard sole. Fitflop have a good sale on at the minute. I was lucky enough to get some fab Vionic sandals in the sale last summer with a discount.

sarcelle I also have PF, it’s been Avon since July, In October I brought some sketchers memory foam shoes for work and general wear.. after being off work for a week and wearing my Fly boots my pain eased and I thought it was starting to go.. been back 2 days in my work sketchers and it’s agony again!!
