Putting on a strapless bar?

It's been at least 20 years since I last wore a strapless bra.

Bought one today to wear with a lovely off-the-shoulder top bought two weeks ago.

Tried bra on at home. It feels like it fits; the size is right; but I just can't get it positioned high enough, at the right place up my torso. It needs hoiking upwards, but there's no way I can do so, my arms can't reach properly to drag it upwards.

Is there a secret to this? How to put on a strapless bra so that it fits around your actual chest and breasts, rather than halfway to your waist?

Do you put it on back-to-front, the way you want it, and then wiggle the bra around, or something?

Hoik it up using coat-hanger hooks?!

Thanks! Blush

Ha! I was going at first to suggest fasten at front and wiggle it around. I was in a pharmacy today and noticed they had invisible tape, or lingerie tape/toupee tape for want of a better word, which may help instead of trips to the lav for discreet hoiking HTH

Try leaning forward and "wiggling" yourself into the cups.

How do you reach back to fasten normal bras??

Normally, putting on a bra with straps:

  1. Put arms through shoulder straps, one after the other, and place shoulder straps in position on shoulders.
  2. Position front of bra appropriately, with boobs in cups.
  3. Reach behind with both hands, find hooks and eyes and hook them up.
  4. Minor adjustments to the front, back and sides.

The straps help to position a bra in the correct place on torso and keep it there while you remove both hands in order to do up the hooks in the back. This cannot happen with a strapless bra.

Maybe the thing to do is to fasten hooks after positioning strapless bra above boobs, going close under the armpits, and then wiggling the bra down into position. Shall try to find time to attempt this tomorrow!
