Please would someone be able to recommend a hairdresser who is really good at cutting short hair? I've tried loads of places and whilst their other clients look fab with their swishy manes, the precision, short cut that I ask for never happens (think Michelle Williams's long pixie). It only looks "okayish" for about a week after the cut and even then, only if I iron the living daylights out of it. Thought to be fair, I have incredibly thick, coarse hair with an unruly wave. It is awful stuff - very tempted to shave it off but am not much in the looks department so that wouldn't work either.

Lynsey Ashton in Mossley- she’s just down from the Coop. She’s fab.

Ash at Pierre Alexander in Manchester city centre. He was a barber and is very good at short hair. He's also a lovely guy.

Olivier Morosini does a great short hair cut. Salon on Tib Street.

Lynsey Ashton Hair for sure! I’ve been with Lynsey for 5 years now, she is wonderful and her salon in Mossley is great. Really reasonable prices given the standard too.

Hi ForSale from a fellow local!

Hello BrownSauce! Lynsey is fab. Shes also good at telling you when something won’t work for you, which if you are going for something as tricky as a Michelle Williams crop.

Have you tried Kev at Carey & Carey?

Danielle at rcnq - not cheap but really good!
