Anti perspirant. Who would have thought?!! Was on holiday last week in Tunisia, the heat and sweat made my inner thighs like razor blades. Rubbed roll-on anti perspirant in desperation. And it bloody worked!!! Grin
Roll on deo might work as well. Though not spray deos for obvious reasons...

Wearing men’s boxer shorts also works Wink

delphguelph · 26/07/2018 20:20

Crikey this is a revelation

MipMipMip · 26/07/2018 21:37

Worth doing under tights too in case the crotch slips down. Blush

Loonoon · 27/07/2018 00:18

I’m taking a moment to think of everyone who has to wear tights in this heat.

I’ m pretty much permanently in my harem pant jumpsuits and have sent them to my sisters, children and cousins.

BillywigSting · 27/07/2018 00:22

Two words

Comfort shorts

Wear them instead of knickers.

Thank me later Grin

BillywigSting · 27/07/2018 00:23

Antiperspirant under boobs has saved a fair few of my bras too.

AuditAngel · 27/07/2018 00:32

I wear pants with short legs. My friend chops the legs off tights, leaving the thigh bits

LittleWingSoul · 27/07/2018 01:34

Lanacane anti chafe gel works too... As one might think! Discovered it back when I was a 25mile a week runner, now I only need it because chub Grin

Northernlass99 · 27/07/2018 06:50

Picked this tip up from here about two years ago! Works a treat, cheap and easy, and life changing!
Doesn’t work in extreme heat tho, I use big bloomer anti-chaffing shorts on holiday which are lovely.

Sounds like a pretty good way of boiling alive in this weather! What’s wrong with deodorant instead of bloomers?

CakeNinja · 27/07/2018 06:55

I’ve been doing this for a while, welcome to the party OP - better late than never Grin
I always have it, no need to buy anything special and no need to be adding additional material in this heat!
Saved me last year on holiday and every day recently at work in dresses.

Amrapaali · 27/07/2018 06:57

It was a revelation CakeNinja!
Though I am intrigued by bloomer shorts...how do those work? Do they really look frilly and olde worlde ?

Northernlass99 · 27/07/2018 07:04

Big bloomer anti chaffing shorts look like cycling shorts (no not big and frilly - that’s just the name of the company!), Are so cool thin and light, not hot at all.

Amrapaali · 27/07/2018 08:05

Thanks NorthernLass any excuse to whip my credit card out Grin

@sarah2011 little bands? I'm intrigued, and desperate as at 23 weeks pregnant nothing else is helping and shorts don't fit a bump. Can you link please?

MrsFTigalar · 27/07/2018 12:27

Ignore me, found them!

LizandFlo · 27/07/2018 17:47

Mitchum roll on deodorant saved my life, it was a revelation. I could wear dresses again in the summer without the rub and resulting sore, painful thighs. I also have the big bloomer pants which are excellent, but I can’t currently face them in the 30+ degree heat of commuting into London.

BillywigSting · 27/07/2018 18:36

I tried mitchum but I'm a sweaty mare and it wears off far too quickly.

Comfort shorts are made of that super light moisture wicking material that lots of sports clothes are made of so they stay cool and last as long as you need them too.

Similar to the bands but they actually stay put. They're a total game changer.

bingohandjob · 27/07/2018 20:15

Agree with Northernlass - those comfort shorts have been brilliant in this heat. I felt a little embarrassed at first wearing them, stupid, I know, but with this heatwave SO many women in work have said similar along lines of "I'd love to wear dresses/skirts but the dreaded chafe..." as I've been wafting about in dresses so I just started recommending them and it's like we are all part of a secret anti-chub-rub-club now. Sweaty thighs are no respecter of size - all of us, all shapes and sizes, can get it in this boiling heat!

This is also pretty good www.ivyverdure.com

Haffiana · 28/07/2018 11:27

Cut the legs off any old pair of 40 plus denier tights. Comfort shorts for a fraction of the price, totally prevent the chub rub!

duffbeergoggles · 28/07/2018 11:31

Chamois cream is very good.

sonjadog · 28/07/2018 13:40

I am a comfort short convert. They are maybe a little hotter than nothing at all, but I love wearing summer dresses and when the other option is painful chub rub, then I can deal with the heat. I've worn them in 40 degrees without being uncomfortable, so they really aren´t that hot to wear. Don't get proper cycle-shorts though, they will make you hotter, get the comfort shorts designed for the job.
